WHO – Who operates Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites?
- The IRS manages the VITA programs, and the VITA sites are operated by IRS partners and staffed by volunteers who want to make a difference in their communities. All VITA volunteers who prepare returns must take and pass tax law training that meets or exceeds IRS standards. This training includes maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of all taxpayer information. In addition to requiring volunteers to certify their knowledge of the tax laws, the IRS requires a quality review check for every return prepared at a VITA/TCE site prior to filing.
- PIM Savvy will have two VITA sites in 2024 (Renton on Tuesdays and Fridays and Everett on Mondays, plus additional FREE tax preparation at various libraries and community centers in Kent, Seattle and Mukilteo.) Our PIM Savvy VITA page will be updated with 2024 tax appointments soon so you can make appointments online. https://pimsavvy.com/vita/
