WHERE – Where do I apply for the Working Families Tax Credit?
- Eligible Washington individuals and families can apply for the Working Families Tax Credit online or by submitting a paper application. The online application will be available in English and Spanish. The paper application will also be available in Arabic, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Khmer, Korean, Marshallese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
- The Working Families Tax Credit program uses SecureAccess Washington, or SAW. SecureAccess Washington is a single sign-on account to access over 300 Washington state services. It provides login security, such as multi-factor authentication (sends a code to your cell phone or email) and allows people to access multiple accounts to access state services.
- Washington State Department of Revenue is working with popular tax preparation companies to help Washington workers apply for the Working Families Tax Credit.
- The IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals. Find a VITA or TCE Site Near You: https://irs.treasury.gov/freetaxprep/
